I realized today that I don’t follow the work dress code in the slightest—in fact I tossed my uniform in a bag months ago, and promptly lost the bag—but I’ve yet to hear anything about it so... Guess I’m grandfathered in?
Now that the holiday rush is done, I was reminded why I like this job. The good days are VERY good days. Three point five hour lunch meant I got to go practice archery, shoot pool, and stop by Dick’s for burgers. And I still get to go home early, woo-hoo! This almost makes up for that 16 hour shift last Friday on the wettest day of the decade....
How’s oppo doing? Any plans? Want to wash my car? Seriously, can we start a GoFundMe to get Svend flown over here? The Miata needs some loving attention.

Got a lot of family in town, and was able to get in a cold and rainy hike with my cousin today. Doing a clutch job on the Jeep next week before I’m back in the shit.

Do some stretches! I like using YouTube to learn physical therapy routines. Hopefully the firing leads to something better. The company I work for merged and we are expecting layoffs. They were good to push it until after the holidays.

Skated this morning for 90 minutes without a real break, then ate a ton of cookies to compensate for it. Helping at a youth hockey event in the morning (might drive the old car if it is dry) then no solid plans for the rest of the weekend.

It’s been a weird Fall/Winter. Had a bunch of storms last month, including one that spawned tornadoes in Phoenix proper, and it’s rained all this week. If you look closely you can see a waterfall in that pic.
Yeah, picking up two new high school classes next semester. I’ll be teaching STEM, Bio, Earth Sci, Strength/Cond at one school and moonlighting Bio and STEM at another. Finished up with a 4.0 in my grad program first semester and am thinking about tackling 12 credit hours this semester.

Well, the start of the day was good, but the end went to shit: literally. A big sewer main collapsed and was spotted 5 minutes before we were supposed to leave. Thankfully so many people were off today that they contracted it out, and I didn’t have to climb in that hole.

They’re so good. On and off the bike. I would definitely recommend the Kevlar- lined version though (I’ve got an unlined and a lined pair). I was thinking about doing a full-on oppo review...

We left Phoenix today. 5 days of rain. We managed two quick hikes. It was the same temperature at home in MI. It was still a great trip.
We saw a waterfall with petroglyphs. And there was actually water falling.
